Built in the 19th century with park-like gardens, Copsewood House (later Grange) was at one time the residence of Sir Richard Moon (1814-1899), who had been Chairman of the London & North Western Railway. During the 20th century, GEC took over the building, and the surrounding land became a 9-hole golf course (The Grange). More recently home to Marconi Sports & Social Club, the building has become a sad sight, due to neglect and vandalism
